How We Help Delray Beach Families Honor a Loved One

Choosing cremation does not mean setting Jewish tradition aside. Whether your family wants the simplest arrangement possible or a full service before the cremation takes place, we will explain each option in plain language and let you decide what feels right.

Simple Jewish Cremation

Our package starts at $2,495 and includes transportation to the crematory, refrigeration, the cremation fee, an alternative container marked with a Jewish star, and a wood urn with the Star of David. Kaddish, earth from Israel, a shiva candle, a yahrzeit calendar, and acknowledgment cards are part of every package. Death certificates, the medical examiner fee, and a processing fee are billed separately.

Funeral or Memorial Service With Cremation

Cremation does not rule out a service. Some families gather for a funeral first, with the cremation following afterward. Others prefer a memorial service once the cremation is complete. We can help you plan either one around your family's customs and schedule.

‍Witnessing the Cremation
‍
For a nominal fee, family members may be present as their loved one is placed into the cremation chamber. For some, being there is an important part of saying goodbye. We will walk you through what to expect beforehand so nothing comes as a surprise.

‍Pre-Need Cremation Plans
‍
Making your arrangements ahead of time lets you decide calmly, at your own pace, rather than leaving those choices to relatives in the middle of their grief. Pre-arranged plans include National Travel Protection with portability across the United States.

About Delray Beach, Florida Community

Delray Beach began as Linton, a farming settlement named for Michigan congressman William Linton, who bought land here in the 1890s. After a hard freeze in 1898 drove many settlers away, including Linton himself, the community took the name Delray. The area west of the Intracoastal Waterway was incorporated as the Town of Delray in 1911, the barrier island became the Town of Delray Beach in 1923, and on May 11, 1927, the two joined to form the City of Delray Beach. Lake Ida, now a favorite for boating, was named for Mrs. Linton.

Today the city is home to about 66,800 residents according to the 2020 census, and it was the first city in Florida to win the National Civic League's All-America City award three times, in 1993, 2001, and 2017. Atlantic Avenue runs from the beach through a lively downtown of restaurants and galleries, while the 1915 Cason Cottage House Museum preserves early family life. West of Interstate 95, large active adult communities such as Kings Point helped make Delray Beach one of the centers of South Palm Beach County's Jewish community.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we hold a funeral service before the cremation?
Yes. Choosing cremation does not rule out a visitation or funeral service. We can arrange a funeral with the cremation following, or a memorial service after the cremation is complete.

How soon can someone come if a loved one dies at home in Delray Beach?
Call us at (561) 865-1746 at any hour. If you request immediate assistance, one of our professionals will be there within the hour. If your family wants some quiet time first, we will come when you are ready.

Are death certificates included in the package price?
No. Certified death certificates, the medical examiner fee, and a processing fee are billed separately from the $2,495 package. We explain each one before you make any commitment.

Is embalming required before cremation?
Embalming is not required by law in most circumstances, and Jewish custom generally avoids it. Our package includes refrigeration, which preserves your loved one with dignity until the cremation takes place.

What can we do with the cremated remains afterward?
Many families keep the urn at home, while others place it in a columbarium niche or bury it in a cemetery plot. We also offer urn vaults designed for in-ground burial of cremated remains.
